Korean Man, Who Sexually Assaulted His Daughter-In-Law After Taking Viagra, Receives 5-Year Sentence
The story of a sexual assault case is not only disgusting the nation, but the light prison sentence of the perpetrator is also enraging the public.
On April 27, the Gwangju District Court found 70-year-old Mr. A guilty of sexual assault and convicted him to 5 years in prison. He also received 40 hours of community service in welfare facilities for children and people with disabilities.
Back in February of 2019, Ms. B had filed a report against Mr. A for sexual assault. Mr. A, who happens to be Ms. B’s father-in-law sexually assaulted his daughter-in-law only three months after she got married and moved into their home. It was also further revealed that Ms. B had been struggling with a mental disorder at the time of the sexual assault and Mr. A took advantage of her condition. “Mr. A knew that his daughter-in-law struggled with a mental disorder and would forget his words so he proceeded with the assault.”
When Mr. A was asked for a comment regarding the case, he stated that “his only crime was loving on his daughter-in-law.” However, the court found him guilty after receiving the case. The Gwangju District Court shared that,
Mr. A made his daughter-in-law, who was struggling with a mental disorder, the target of his sexual desires. He failed to notify family members of the damage he caused and instead, went to get a prescribed erectile dysfunction drug. He committed the sexual assault with even more power.
It hasn’t even been 3 months since she moved into her in-laws home when her dreams and hopes were crushed. She hasn’t been able to shake off the mental distress she received.

The Gwangju District Court reached their verdict by taking into consideration the fact that Mr. A has not had any convictions before this, but also considering Ms. B’s family and their wishes for him to receive the severest punishment possible.
