The fan was referring to “WAP”—the controversial yet highly acclaimed Billboard Hot 100 song by American rappers Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. Not long after its release, “WAP” became a hit on TikTok. Choreographer Brian Esperon created a viral, floor-caressing dance routine to the song dubbed the #WAPChallenge, which reached 1.5 billion views in just one month.

Naturally, despite the fan’s request reaching almost 50,000 likes to date, no one expected Rosé to actually attempt the challenge—until a few days ago, when the soloist and BLACKPINK star shocked everyone by responding to the comment. “Maybe…” she replied, “Maaaayybeee if I reach 10M 😉.”
| @roses_are_rosie/TikTokRosé’s own comment quickly shot to over 80,000 likes. At the time, she was still half a million followers away from her 10 million goal. Of course, given her popularity, it didn’t take long for that milestone to arrive.
| @roses_are_rosie/InstagramJust four days later, Rosé’s TikTok account officially reached 10 million followers, leading fans to trend the hashtag “#WAPSÉ” worldwide on Twitter alongside the likes of “Happy Easter” and “Blessed Sunday”.
| TwitterEven then, many BLINKs weren’t sure Rosé would actually go through with the challenge, but this star isn’t one to back away from a promise. Lo and behold, hours after reaching 10 million followers, Rosé uploaded a new video to her TikTok account captioned, “#10M !! Here you go.”

Unsurprisingly, Rosé’s more-adorable-than-sexy rendition of “WAP” had BLINKs across social media screaming—and who could blame them?!

In less than an hour, the video surpassed 1 million views, and that number is climbing higher every minute. In the replies, Rosé commented, “I keep my promises,” followed by an eye-roll emoji—but judging by her smile in the clip, it seems like she really enjoyed herself.
| @roses_are_rosie/TikTokRosé’s close friend Ladies Code‘s Ashley was quick to comment “LOVE ITTTTTT” on the video, as did numerous fans. Given that BLACKPINK collaborated with Cardi B on their song “Bet You Wanna” last year, it’s likely only a matter of time before the OG artist gets a kick out of Rosé’s cover herself. In the meantime, BLINKs will definitely be watching this one on repeat.
