Big Hit Releases Free E-Book & Font From BTS’s “CONNECT, BTS” Exhibition
A year on from CONNECT, BTS, Big Hit Entertainment has released a free e-book and font commemorating the project, available for a limited time only.
Back in January last year, BTS announced the global public art project CONNECT, BTS, a tie-in promotion for Map of the Soul: 7. Bringing together over 20 contemporary artists across five cities (London, Berlin, Buenos Aires, New York, and Seoul), the project hosted gallery exhibitions curated to “resonate with BTS’s philosophy” and redefine the connection between art and music.
| CONNECT, BTSSadly, due to the sudden rise of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, BTS had to cancel many international promotional activities last year—including their Map of the Soul world tour. But now, they’re bringing the worldwide beauty of the CONNECT, BTS exhibition to every through a free e-book.
| CONNECT, BTSIn a foreword for the book, BTS explained how they learned that the way they connect with fans through music is not too dissimilar to the way visual artists connect with their viewers.
| CONNECT, BTSWe continue to be amazed by the boundary-breaking power of music when we meet and communicate with our fans through music and see our message resonate with them, and when we, in turn, are healed and comforted through this process. The same must be with the visual arts.

The members went on to share that art is best when it’s accessible to all and that CONNECT, BTS represents the belief that diversity and uniqueness connect us. The 202-page e-book itself provides images of each artist’s work along with commentary and essays.
| CONNECT, BTSWe believe that art in any form shines brightest when more people can easily access, experience and share it… We all come from different cultures, and speak different languages. But we are here together because we respect the value of diversity, and to send the message that different is good. It’s the belief that our diversity can create a world where differences do not render us apart but “connect” us together through our uniqueness.

Alongside the free e-book, the official font for CONNECT, BTS has been released for free too. The e-book explains how the font was created using negative space and simplified forms of the five cities involved in the project.
| CONNECT, BTSThe CONNECT, BTS e-book (in Korean and English) and font are available to download now from the official website until April 30.
