Bae Soo Jung (Moon Chae Won) has been with her boyfriend for 10 years, but their romance is turning lukewarm. Soo Jung heard that her friend is getting married to her first love and feels distracted. On a train to Busan, she sits next to Kim Jae Hyun (Yoo Yeon Seok), who claims that he is an Agapemonite (a Christian sect where men took multiple spiritual brides) and that he would willingly do one-night-stands. She tries to push him away but ends up sharing a car ride with him due to the train breaking down. She begins to slowly open up to him as he consistently tries to win her heart.

The show brings them together through thick and thin until reality pulls them apart. In 1997, during the IMF crisis, the two meet while exchanging stories on a radio program. Although the couple’s paths keep crossing, the timing is never in their favor.

Yi Soo falls in love with him, but he can no longer stay awake and wakes up with a new face.
