As the two P Nation artists and fellow friends talked, HyunA began talking about her experience with vasovagal syncope.

HyunA was previously slated for an August 2020 comeback with a full album and a pre-release single, “Good Girl”.

The release of the song and album, however, ended up being pushed back indefinitely because her condition began flaring up at the time she was supposed to make her return with a comeback.

On Jessi’s Showterview, during the profile rewriting segment, HyunA revealed that she was 44 kg, to which Jessi was doubtful about!

You’re not 44 kg. That’s because, ever since I’ve known her, right now, she’s the skinniest she’s ever been. I’d say like around…38 kg?

But after confirmation from HyunA that her weight is in fact 44-45 Kg, HyunA revealed why that weight range was so important for her to maintain!

Vasovagal syncope occurs by certain triggers, such as low weight, stress, and emotional distress that leads to fainting. That means, I gotta have some weight. But I become hypersensitive during promotions, so I have to be more careful when I’m sensitive. So I try to maintain 45 Kg for my health.

HyunA then talked about the frustration with having to deal with such a condition, and her guilt for fans that have been waiting for her for a long time.

This really frustrated me; that I couldn’t be able to stand on stage. I was so sorry that I couldn’t keep my promise with my fans. I kept thinking about feeling sorry towards fans, which got worse. So I thought, “This is not right. I have to act more naturally”. I tried to relax my mind.

Since then, I’ve been working on my comeback slowly, but not to the point of overdoing it. I won’t say that I’m at the level of being cured, but I feel a lot better than before.

After pouring her heart out, her friend Jessi made sure to tell her that she’s got her back!

Her fans…she has a big overseas fandom. They reach out to me everyday. Asking me, “Why is it always Jessi on the show[s]?”, “Why is DAWN on the show?”,” Why does only Crush appear on the show?” And I replied, “She’s doing well, don’t worry. She’ll appear on TV soon.”

HyunA is suffering from her illness; I said, “If you’re her real fan, you can give her some space and wait.” None of them left a comment, so I left one! I guess I’m bumming around!
