Here Are The Top 3 Male Idols Leading K-Pop’s 4th Generation, As Selected By Fans
K-Pop in South Korea is often categorized into 4 generations (with more to come), of which we are currently in the 4th. These generations are often defined in a similar way to birth generations, by a certain characteristic, event, or even significant group.
To explain briefly, Generation 1 marks the birth of K-Pop as we know it today with groups like H.O.T., Sechs Kies, and S.E.S Generation 2 was formed during an economic crisis and was therefore extremely commercialized. They include Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, and SHINee. The 3rd Generation is sometimes referred to as the “golden age of K-Pop” as the genre boomed internationally. They include BTS, EXO, and TWICE.
The 4th Generation is fairly new (only about a year old) but has truly proved that it is distinct from the others. K-Pop has moved beyond the “boundaries” of Korea and has become experimental and high-reaching. TXT, LOONA, Stray Kids, and more are pioneering this generation and are exploring new heights of K-Pop. Recently, netizens have discussed their top 3 male idols that they think have made this generation unique..
(P.S. These idols are ranked in age order.)

3. Stray Kids’s Hyunjin
| @straykidsupdate/TumblrYes, all three who have defined this generation are dancers. Dance speaks to the soul, in fact, and Hyunjin does indeed put his soul into dancing. He is also known for his outstanding fashion, along with continuing the long-hair trend. He is a great leader for experimental dances in K-Pop.
