There’s no doubt that TWICE is one of the biggest groups in K-Pop, loved around the world for their fun and fresh music. So, it’s no surprise that they’ve pioneered numerous achievements over the years. Here are just 10 of the many, many achievements they were the first K-Pop girl group in history to accomplish.

After TWICE’s remaining TWICELIGHTS concert dates were sadly cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the group decided to hold an online concert for fans instead. The Beyond LIVE concert, TWICE: World in a Day, sold a staggering 100,000 tickets.

This made TWICE the first K-Pop girl group in history to surpass an online concert attendance of 100,000. TWICE: World in a Day, which grossed over ₩3.30 billion KRW ($2.83 million USD), also became the third most-viewed online concert overall this year.

TWICE’s most recently mini album, MORE & MORE, set records from the very day it was released. Within 24 hours, the album had racked up around 270,000 copies sold.

This made TWICE the first K-Pop girl group in history to surpass 200,000 sales in one day. As of the time of writing, MORE & MORE still holds the record for highest first day girl group sales.

And that wasn’t the only accolade MORE & MORE earned them. A week after the album was released, Gaon figures confirmed that the group had sold a total of 5,193,477 albums in Korea.

This made TWICE the first K-Pop girl group in history to surpass 5 million sales in the country. They’re also the first K-Pop girl group to reach 8 million total sales across Korea (Gaon) and Japan (Oricon).

After achieving 21 hourly Perfect All-Kills (also known as PAKs) on the Korean charts with “Cheer Up” in 2016, TWICE went on to score 91 hourly Perfect-All Kills with “TT” later that year.

This made them the first K-Pop girl group in history to achieve 100 PAKs in total. They currently hold the title for second highest number of Perfect All-Kills across boy and girl groups, just 3 PAKs shy of hitting 200.

Japan tours generally fall into three categories: hall tours (the smallest venues), arena tours, and dome tours (the largest venues). In 2019, TWICE held a five-date dome tour across Osaka, Tokyo, and Nagoya.

To receive platinum certification from Gaon, a group must sell 250,000 copies of an album. In June 2018, What is Love? was certified platinum.

This made TWICE the first K-Pop girl group in history to achieve a platinum album certification from Gaon. With five platinum albums and one double platinum album, they currently have the most certifications of any idol group in the country.

This made them the first K-Pop girl group in history to reach the 5 million mark. They later became the first to reach 6 million followers and still hold the record for the most-followed girl group.

Song of the Year is a highly coveted award that few groups can achieve. TWICE, however, have several SOTY trophies. In 2016, they won MAMA Song of the Year with “Cheer Up”. They later won the same award in 2017 for “Signal”, and again in 2018 with “What is Love?”.

This made TWICE the first K-Pop girl group (and overall idol group) in history to win Song of the Year three years in a row.
