Red Velvet’s Irene & EXO’s Chanyeol Confirmed As The New Ambassadors For Prada
When it comes to luxury fashion, few idols embody the allure of Prada as well as Red Velvet’s Irene and EXO’s Chanyeol have. Now, the high-end fashion house is making sure everyone knows it. According to a new Vogue Korea article and pictorial, Irene and Chanyeol are officially the new Prada ambassadors!
In the Vogue Korea pictorial, Irene was photographed wearing iconic pieces from Prada’s Autumn/Winter 2020 women’s collection. Themed around the concept of “Surreal Glamor”, the collection represents the inherent strength of women and authority of femininity.
Irene previously attended the Prada Dreamscape pop-up store opening in December 2019. After she later posted a photo of herself wearing a Prada outfit several months ago, fans began to speculate she had an ambassadorship in the works.
Back in March 2019, Irene also made her Paris Fashion Week debut at a show for Miu Miu, Prada’s subsidiary brand. In conjunction with the appearance, she starred in the brand’s “Girl in Miu Miu” campaign.
Chanyeol, meanwhile, is pictured wearing standout outfits from Prada’s Autumn/Winter 2020 men’s collection. This innovative collection blends traditional fabrics with new recycled materials to create a new twist on the brand’s classic jackets, coats, and shirts.
In April last year, Chanyeol flew to Singapore to celebrate the launch of Prada’s Spring/Summer 2019 menswear collection. Then, in November 2019, he was invited to the Prada Escape pop-up store opening in Seoul.
And this isn’t Chanyeol’s first high-end fashion partnership. He also starred in a campaign for Tommy Hilfiger, beginning his work with them several years ago.
As of right now, neither Vogue nor Prada have confirmed whether Irene and Chanyeol will be working with the brand internationally as well as domestically. Either way, fans can expect to see plenty more pictorials between the brand and the idols in the future.
