K-Pop idols are no strangers to trauma, as plenty of idols have opened up about getting traumatized due to distressing events. Here’s a list of a few of these idols.

1. D.O. (EXO)

During an episode of Actor & Chatter, D.O. shared that he has anxiety about cameras due to a mistake he made during EXO’s debut.

I’ve had camera anxiety since my debut era. When I debuted as a singer, I made a mistake on a music show. I’m still traumatized by it.

When EXO debuted, D.O. was in charge of introducing their song “MAMA. However, he ended up making a mistake when introducing the song due to how nervous he was.

We debuted with a song called ‘MAMA’, and I was in charge of introducing the song. I was supposed to describe the song as, ‘It’s a powerful dance track with a magnificent orchestra.’

But all I couldn’t remember the word ‘magnificent’ and only remembered was the first letter. Instead, I said, ‘superior orchestra’. I couldn’t even talk after my mistake.”

BoA debuted when she was just 13 years old, and she has had to deal with many heartbreaking things from a young age. During an episode of Because I Want to Talk, BoA shared that she faced trauma after an interview she had when she was 13. In the past interview, BoA was asked how she felt about debuting and not being able to live as a normal 13-year old, and she gave a mature answer.

It’s unfortunate. But it’s not like you can catch both rabbits. So I intend on working hard to catch one rabbit.

I got a lot of hate for that interview. Malicious commenters left mean comments saying I wasn’t talking like a 13-year-old, and that I sounded really old.

BoA got traumatized due to the hate she received, and never used the phrase “catching rabbits” ever again.

I’ve never said ‘catching rabbits’ since that interview. I don’t know why they hated on me so much, but using that expression made all the anti-fans pounce.
