MONSTA X Joins The Growing List Of K-Pop Idols Who Have Shown Support For The #BlackLivesMatter Movement

Ever since the #BlackLivesMatter movement against racial discrimination and injustice have started, more and more celebrities in the Korean entertainment scene have shown their support for it.

People started advocating for the #BlackLivesMatter movement again this May 2020, when George Floyd, a black man, died while being detained by the police.

A video showing Derek Chauvin, a white, Minneapolis police officer, kneeling on Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, has sparked outrage and protests worldwide.

Some K-Pop stars who have recently spoken up about it are worldwide stars BTS who posted about their support in Twitter

…and Seattle-born Jay Park who also donated $10,000 to Black Lives Matter and posted his honest thoughts about the movement on Instagram.

Additionally, GOT7’s Mark also supported the cause by donating $7,000 to the Official George Floyd Memorial fund and encouraging his fans to hopefully show their support, too.

And just recently, another K-Pop group chose to stand up and declare their support for the #BlackLivesMatter movement: MONSTA X who posted their official stand on their Twitter account.

Fans of the group couldn’t help but show their appreciation of MONSTA X’s efforts to show their support for a movement that fights against racism and inequality.

If you’re interested in also showing your support to this cause, you can check out the post below for more information:
