Where Are The 16 Contestants Of TWICE’s Survival Show SIXTEEN Now?

Any ONCE will immediately know what you’re talking about when you mention SIXTEEN. It was a survival show run by JYP Entertainment in 2015 where he pitted the company’s trainees against each other to decide the members of a seven-person girl group. I know what you’re thinking, TWICE has nine members right? The reason for this will become apparent later.

1. Jihyo

Jihyo had been a trainee for over ten years by the time she participated in SIXTEEN. She was known for her sassy attitude on the show, performing a cover of Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” as a response to JYP making a comment about her weight.

Jihyo successfully made it into TWICE. As a matter of fact, she was highly coveted in the last challenge by both teams because of her amazing vocal ability.

Nayeon comfortable got into the SIXTEEN lineup. JYP was a big fan of hers right from the start and was eager to have her debut and that was clearly a good choice.

3. Jeongyeon

Jeongyeon was a lot more tomboyish on SIXTEEN, she was shown skateboarding around Seoul and her attitude was fierce. She’s still these things but she doesn’t get to show it a lot with TWICE’s cuter concepts.

Mina finished the show in the “major” category which actually ended up a disadvantage as JYP deemed to have performed worse in the final performance. Despite this, she was chosen to be a member of TWICE because of her strong individual performance.
