Back in 2017, Korean lifestyle vlogger Jina Kim took to the streets of Korea to interview people about their ideal body type.

When she asked her friend which woman from the chart was ideal, he picked the one below, explaining that he felt most men in Korea would make the same choice.

He also chose which girl he thought was fat.

Wondering what the top reason is that leads women to diet, Jina took to the streets of Seoul to learn more.

One of the first things she asked was whether people felt they were chubby.

Shockingly, many of the people she spoke to on the street perceived themselves as being chubby.

When showing women on the street the same pictures she showed her friend earlier, asking them to pick the ideal body and which one was fat this was the result:

Many of the women picked the “Italy” body type as ideal. As for weight, there were varying answers across the board.

Many of the women she interviewed named SISTAR members, as well as Lee Hyori, as their ideal body type due to their slim but strong appearance.

What Jina uncovered was that many Korean women perceive themselves as chubby and aren’t completely satisfied with their looks. So, are you fat in Korea? Well, maybe. But, does it matter? The most important thing is your health — not a number on the scale.
