Fans Are Divided On Whether Or Not BTS Should Perform At The Super Bowl

With BTS becoming a worldwide sensation, many are curious to see how far they can go in terms of stages. They’ve already stood on various sold out stadium performances around the world, so it’s only natural for fans to wonder if they will ever perform at something as big as the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The NFL previously mentioned that they want to make football more global. Inviting BTS for the Halftime Show could become a huge part in helping the game expand globally.

Forbes mentions that BTS is the only name that has been making a huge impact on the charts in the U.S. currently. “There are only a few musicians with global reach and more international fans than Americans…at the moment, there’s only one name who fits that description perfectly.”

Shakira, one of the performers from the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show, stated, “The Super Bowl is a very American event, as American as it can get. It will also be a reminder of the heritage of this country, which is one of diversity, and that’s what we will be celebrating on Sunday.”

Having BTS perform on stage with other well-known artists could be a historical moment in musical history, but also introduce the sport to millions of people in Asia as well.

Some fans however, have a different take to this as they feel that for a sport that’s so American, BTS might not be the performance the audience is looking for.

Even with a more culturally accepting generation, they feel that it will be still be a tough crowd to crack and the hate would be inevitable. Others also feel that BTS still have many more goals to accomplish and that the Super Bowl stage isn’t something they should be worrying about.

Some also believe that this performance would never actually happen as most performers for the show are those that fit the sports demographic.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think BTS would be suitable for the Halftime Show?
