MAMAMOO’s Solar Avoided SM Entertainment’s Auditions Because Of Her “Lacking” Visuals

MAMAMOO‘s Solar revealed the real reason why she avoided auditioning for SM Entertainment.

In the January 17 episode of Yoo Hee-yeol’s Sketchbook, she explained that after deciding to be a singer, she went through over fifty auditions in various companies.

I began to attend many many auditions. I went through around fifty auditions in total, however, I failed them all.

Yoo Hee-yeol then asked Solar why she tried out for almost every company except SM Entertainment. She had a simple answer in response.

Because of my visuals, I decided to not try to audition…I knew I wouldn’t pass so I thought, ‘Why go through all the heartache?

Fans certainly think Solar’s statement was unfounded, saying her visuals and talent are unparalleled.

They’re glad she is now with her current company, RBW, although they’re confident she would have passed the SM Entertainment auditions anyway.

Solar said she didn't audition in SM because she wasn't confident in her visuals. Im glad she's in Mamamoo and not in SM, but I honestly think she would've gotten in with her vocals. As much as I hate on SM, they pick the best vocalist. They have a separate batch for visuals. Lol
