iKON’s B.I Suspected Of Purchasing LSD and Marijuana In The Past
In an exclusive report by Dispatch, they have revealed that iKON‘s leader B.I was suspected of drug crimes such as attempting to purchase LSD and Marijuana back in August 2016. However, even with the suspicions, the police did not investigate him. Dispatch has acquired Kakaotalk chat logs between B.I and Mr “A”, showing their conversations about drugs started in April 2016.
In the first chat log revealed by Dispatch, B.I can be seen inquiring heavily about LSD, and even asking for a discount.
B.I: ㅋㅋㅋ I’ve always wanted to try it (LSD), is it strong?
Mr. A: LSD is the top grade drug in our country.
B.I: Ah not that ㅋㅋㅋ Is the drug strong?
Mr. A: It’s strong, it’s a drug.
B.I: Can I get as much as I want?
Mr. A: That’s right.
B.I: How about 3? I’m trying to save money. If I buy from you, will there be some kind of discount?
Mr. A: No but if you do LSD, I’ll laugh at you. Then you’ll be doing cocaine. Then I’ll really scold you.
B.I: ㅋㅋㅋ I won’t, I’m an a genius.
Mr. A: Yeah, look at XXX (name) ㅋ
B.I: If there is one thing I’ve wanted to do in my life, it’s that. I want to try every day but it’s so fucking expensive.
B.I: But I can do LSD? Will the hallucinations be like seeing graphics?
B.I also asked about buying 10 doses at a time, requesting again for a discount for a larger purchase.
B.I: Should we just buy a lot at once? Lol Should we just buy like 10?
Mr. A: Is it because you’re lazy to buy it again?
B.I: Yea Lol That too and I want to possess it, like around 1 million won’s worth
Mr. A: You have possessiveness in weird things
B.I: F*ck. I’m thinking…if I should buy 10 or 1 million won’s worth
Mr. A: If you buy 1 million won, it’s only 6. 10 is 1.5 million won
B.I: Damn that’s f*cking expensive Lol Is there no discount for bulk purchase?
Mr. A: I’ll ask Lol So I told you to buy a little since it’s your first time
B.I: Lol Hey, there’s nothing like that for me I go all out from the beginning that’s how men should do things
B.I: But ask if they can give any discount for bulk purchase
Mr. A: Yea I’ll ask
In August 2016, a man was arrested after violating the Drug Control Act. The police seized a cell phone from his home, and obtained these Kakaotalk chat logs. He admitted in a police investigation that the Kakaotalk chat logs were true. He stated that he delivered 10 doses of LSD to a location nearby B.I’s accommodations, at B.I’s request on May 3, 2016.
It was also revealed by Dispatch that B.I asked if 0.5 grams of LSD had an effect, and how using LSD and marijuana at the same time would be.
Mr. A also warned B.I of not talking to other people about drugs.
Mr. A: Hey, don’t you dare talk about drugs with other people.
B.I: ㅋㅋ I’ve been doing with you so why are you saying that.
Mr. A: If you keep talking like that I’m going to tell Yang Hyun Suk. Be careful ㅋㅋ
B.I: Can you purchase it immediately?
Mr. A: But really, be careful of your mouth.
B.I: As long as I’m careful with my mouth I won’t get caught.
Mr. A: Just don’t let them look at your phone ㅋ The Kakaotalk chats are all there ㅋㅋ
B.I: Yeah got it, right now it’s really dangerous so I’ll delete this.
Mr. A: ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
B.I: I’ll delete it because I’m a coward, fuck ㅋㅋ I’m in Macau.
B.I: I’ll be in Korea on Saturday so how many can I buy from you?
Following these events, another man known as Mr.”C”, a drug dealer was also arrested. The police discovered B.I’s name among those who have purchased drugs from him. After obtaining “C’s” confession, they arrested “A” and confiscated his cell phone, confirming B.I’s name. The police investigated “A”, and “A” initially confirmed that B.I was the idol member on August 22, 2016.
The police obtained a short chat log showing how B.I wanted to make sure how evidence would not be saved, by using Snapchat instead of Kakaotalk
B.I: Go get Snapchat from the App Store.
Mr. A: I got Snapchat. Is it like Instagram?
B.I: It’s just for chatting but the conversation gets removed right away so there is no record.
Even with their confirmations, police did not summon B.I for investigation, whether it was as a suspect or as a witness. This is because “A” reversed his statement on August 30, 2016, stating B.I did ask for LSD, but he did not actually purchase it. When “A” was asked where B.I obtained marijuana and smoked it, “A” replied he didn’t know. The Yongin Police Department determined that the circumstantial evidence was not enough to summon B.I for investigations, however a former drug investigator called the investigations “basically non-existent”.
Mr. A detailed the methods of deliver and other things in his first statement. Also, Kim Han Bin (B.I) stated that he did it with Mr. A. I have to question this case. But why did they not investigate just because the suspect changed his statement?

YG Entertainment was contacted regarding this case on June 10, where they denied B.I’s involvement with drug usage.
YG Entertainment is strictly managing drug usage for all artists. B.I is not connected to the 2016 drug case.
YG purchases a simple drug test kit every 2 months from the United States and tests our artists. iKON members all received a drug test prior to their promotions. Including B.I, none of the members showed any signs of drugs at that time.
