Fans Are Criticizing This Rookie Group For “Disrespecting” MAMAMOO

The rookie boy group T-Bird has come under fire for “disrespecting” MAMAMOO during a music program.

On Music Bank‘s March 29 episode, MAMAMOO took home a trophy for “gogobebe”. They placed first with 4,691 points, just ahead of Baek Yerin‘s “Maybe It’s Not Our Fault”, which had a total score of 4,210.

While MAMAMOO was accepting their trophy, members of T-Bird moved onto the stage behind MAMAMOO and lifted each other up while a third member handed MAMAMOO a bouquet of flowers.

Although many MooMoos say that the bouquet-giving was an acceptable gesture, they found the other T-Bird members’ actions disruptive and disrespectful. T-Bird have been accused of “stealing the spotlight” from MAMAMOO.

In response to the backlash, T-Bird tweeted out an apology that reads: “Hello. This is T-Bird. We want to sincerely apologize to MAMAMOO, the staff, MooMoos and anyone who were offended by our lack of courtesy during today’s music show.”

T-Bird included a formal apology message, in which they promise to reflect on their actions and work towards developing a stronger “sense of responsibility”.

Hello. This is T-Bird.

First, we want to sincerely apologize to MAMAMOO, the staff, MooMoos and anyone who were offended by our lack of courtesy during today’s music show.

From the moment of our behavior to now, we were able to think more deeply and reflect on our carelessness and lack of courtesy.

We understand that many people have been affected or felt uncomfortable by our actions. We feel responsible for these aspects. We are very apologetic and thankful to those who pointed out our wrongs and gave us feedback on it.

We will reflect deeply about what happened during today’s music show, and we will work harder to show a sense of responsibility in not just our music but also everything we do.

We once again apologize to our seniors, MAMAMOO, and MooMoos. We also apologize once again to those who felt uncomfortable or offended by our actions today.

Thank you. From T-Bird

Some MooMoos have accepted the apology, but others have not. One fan feels that T-Bird’s apology is insincere. Another is calling for their disbandment.

Many MooMoos hope that T-Bird will reflect on this experience and be more considerate of their seniors in the future.
