Jennie Stands up for Lisa in a Bold Way
On the January 12, BLACKPINK began their BLACKPINK 2019 World Tour with KIA [In Your Area] in Lisa‘s hometown, Bankok, Thailand.
On this day, Jennie went on stage in front of their Thai fans and said:
“You should be proud of Lisa.”
She continued to say:
“Lisa is really strong and positive.”
And stressed:
“We’ll take good care of her.”
It appears that Jennie was addressing the horrible comments that were left about Lisa’s appearance.
Some fans recently left negative comments about Lisa’s appearance in response to a picture of her at an awards ceremony, and it became so widespread that it made it to the news in Thailand.
BLACKPINK Lisa’s Shocking ‘off the Shoulder’
“With makeup on, she looks like a Russian elf girl… If she dyes her hair black and washes off her makeup, she’s nothing but a Thai girl…”
In response, fans expressed their rage at how people were looking down on her appearance as well as her nationality.
Fans fought back by starting the “#RESPECT_LISA” campaign and even had heated discussions with the haters on Lisa’s Instagram account.

So Lisa from BlackPink, is being discriminated against for being Thai. I have a major problem with that! It’s 2019, the world needs to learn that people are different & they are equal & that racism is not justifiable by any means. #RespectLisa pic.twitter.com/3RstNeORZI
